It all seemed so blissful at first. Wear cute little suits, meet friends with matching suits, get a small salary. Well, you’re going to be making copies for the rest of your life, and a good raise is not in your future. And forget about marrying out of this glass cieling! What? So you can make coffee at home and wash your husband’s underwear? Gross!

now that thats out of my system, a couple of note worthy things lately.

last weekend I went to Hakone with Peter.  We had a good time.  Sunday we went to Yunessun which is like a spa theme park.  The good thing about it is you can go with people of the opposite sex because you are wearing bathing suits.  They have about 25 different baths, including – chocolate, coffee, wine, green tea, sake, roman baths, and fish that eat the dead skin off your feet (that freaked me out, but Peter loved it….  yuck)

Then on Sunday we did the round trip of the area, going to Ashi lake, looking at some shrines, the new Hakone Tokkaido Checkpoint Museum (history-type thing, right up my alley), up to Owakudani to eat onsen-tamago.  The usual.  Twas a long weekend, but fun.  The only thing – our hotel didnt have a bathroom in each room, you are supposed to use the onsen, however…  you had to wash outside….  and it was soooooo cold.  man.  cold….

And today.  Ah today…  I went and finally got my Japanese Drivers Licence.  It was a lot easier than I thought it would be (just had to wait…. and wait…. and…), since they didnt even make me take the 10 question test on the road rules.  And because I was out Shinagawa way, I decided to pursue my Pie Quest.  And I am proud to say I did it!  I found the Anna Millers at Shinagawa, and had real pie!  Best in Japan.  I was just sad I can’t share a photo with you because my phone ran out of charge.  mmmm…  happy food coma….
