wednesday I ate mos burger….

sigh….

oh and I met up with christina.  shes convinced me to take lessons with a private teacher rather than go to the language school.  its also going to work out cheaper.  It was really good to see her, she’s like my personal motivator…  shes also set me up to meet a few of her friends for language exchange, which is a great idea as well.

um, been book shopping.  its not a good idea for me. there is so much that I want here…..

saw Rika today, which was really good.  She took me book shopping…..  and I went to the edo museum.  love that place.  If I ever want to feel like Im in ruroken, that place is where I go.  🙂

um, learnt that the reason why kolas (i cant spell it properly and Im australian….) have big black noses is because they are actually cell phones.  go figure…

japanese tv is so creative!

18 01 2005

well, japan is the place where you can buy anything.  serious.  well, except a pre-paid mobile phone.  but thats a rant.  and i want to be positive…..

what I saw today had me gobsmacked.  I just stood there for about 5 minutes trying to absorb it…..

apart from all the flashing gadget and funky toys (yes, I already spent too much money…) i saw, well, put it this way, it had the body of a finch, and the coloring of a budgie…..  really really weirded me out.I have to admit, its probably been done heaps of times before, but the first time you see it, it just wrong.  on so many levels.

so, obviously after arriving and checking in, I went shopping today.  And quite enjoyed it.  Got some anime stuffs (you know, If it were up to me, I would only buy character goods….) and a really really funky bag.  its about 6 now, but I am sooo tired.  and need a shower.  so its an early night for me tonite.  Ill see if I can get some pics for you of all Ive seen   sumos on telly

oh, and my rooms is 3 tatami mats

Yesterday was a really beautiful day.  Not to hot, a lovely breeze, and beautiful blue skies  made me very happy that I live in Brisbane.

I went to the art muesum with Laura.  Two of the exhibitions were really intresting – Nature Machine and 10 Thoughts about Frames.

There was also a very nice painting in the Look of faith exhibition, but I cant find it on the net.

The Queensland art gallary is a very good gallery.  Its quite large and most of the exhibitions are usually free.  In the summer holidays they also hold events free for kids, and Im all for that sort of thing.

My favourite peice in their whole collection is a peice that was bought in 2004 when they had the APT exhibition displayed, its called Narcissus garden. APT was a brilliant exhibition featuring contempory artists from the asia region.

Laura and I are going to go the the Muesum and Science Center sometime in the holidays too, that’s going to be good (^-^)

my parents gave me a good name thank god, unlike some unlucky children who are given absolutly horrid names.

but I was given a horrible nick name.  its quite embarrising really, and I’m only telling you because it pertains to todays thought.

my nick name – mickey moo, full of poo.

how is that related.  well, i think it might explain why I am full of crap sometimes.

hehe, its my parents own fault.  they doomed me from birth.

6 01 2005

mum’s carving a chook, mmmmm, yum

still bloody hot, it’s been raining all day, the the humidity is yet to lift.

I forgot to report on my mixed blessings this week –

well, my results from experimental physics were finalized, and I got a 6 much to my surprise.  I was thinking 5 was realistic, so Im very happy to have a 6

And I was informed that I have to oppertunity to do a supplemantary exam for physics 3, which I failed by 1%, so I’m thinking this will be easy to do, since I only got 30% in this exam and Im sure I’ll get better than that.  but the exam is next tuesday.

mixed blessings ne.

this blog needs a picture.

oh, this one’s my current bg  ciao

5 01 2005

OMG.  today has to be the hottest day this summer yet in brissy.  it is so humid.  lemme just check – gah, the humidity is somewhere between 80 and 90% here right now.  yuck

http://www.bom.gov.au/

the other thing I have to mention is that they changed the posters in Library at uni.  no more ‘strangers exchanging data in the night’ which has been the only artwork there for the previous 5 years plus.  now we have james dean.  hehe

3 01 2005

well, for some reason everyone is talking about new year’s resolutions at work today.

I just dont get it.  No one ever sticks to them anyway.  but suffice to say, I have adopted one just to pacify the crowds of ppl asking.

I will finish uni this year.

jolly good.

I believe in making aims, rather than resolutions.  I never stick to resolutions, but I can aim.  And of course you have to set realistic time frames for these aims.  Like, finish uni by mid 2006, move to japan again before I turn 25, travel europe, china, thailand, nepal and kokoda before I turn 30.  Learn guitar by the time I’m 25, speak japanese to a reasonable level before I’m 25.  25 is a good age.

And this year my aims are to do a photography course, get fit, learn japanese swords, and do yoga regularly.  it’s going to be a great year.
